The campsite lies in a scenic, high-alpine river canyon surrounded by pine forest and rugged terrain. Popular for solitude, fishing, and the Encampment River Trail hiking, it’s best visited June–September. Accessible only by foot or horseback, it provides a remote, backcountry wilderness experience.
