Winds gusting as high as 80 mph. * WHERE...Thompson Pass. * WHEN...Until 4 PM AKST Monday. * IMPACTS...Visibilities reduced to one quarter mile or less due to blowing and drifting of snow. Travel could be very difficult. Frostbite may occur in as little as 10 minutes on exposed skin. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An arctic airmass continues to drive strong winds through Thompson Pass. Snow already on the ground and strong gap winds will continue to produce areas of blowing snow that may significantly reduce visibility. Winds will gradually begin to decrease Monday evening. Wind chills will remain near -40F.
