Two fronts will bring impactful winter weather to the area. The first overnight, and the second Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning. Snow levels of 4500 feet will fall to 3500 feet overnight. Then, snow levels begin at 3000 feet Wednesday afternoon before falling as low as 1500 feet on Thursday morning, with significant snow for west side areas and northern Klamath County at elevations above 2000 feet. * WHAT...Moderate snow expected above 2000 ft in Jackson County. Total snow accumulations up to 6 inches. Snow levels will begin the event at around 3000 feet then fall to 2000 feet during Wednesday evening, and continue falling to around 1500 feet as snow tapers off on Thursday morning. Snow will be heaviest during Wednesday evening until around 2 AM PST Thursday. * WHERE...Above 2000 ft in Jackson County Including the locations of...Butte Falls, Prospect, and portions of highways 227 and 62. This also includes the following passes or notable locations... Jacksonville Hill on State Highway 238 at 2150 ft. * WHEN...From 1 PM Wednesday to 10 AM PST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Travel may be difficult and delays in your commute. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Portions of Ashland, east Medford, and Rogue River are expected to receive up to an inch of snow.
