Streamflow discharge was last observed at 10 cfs, and a gauge height of 1.72 feet.
With the
% decrease since yesterday,
the streamflow average over the past 10 days is 10 .
Weather today, Tomorrow,
The flow is provided by the Gila River and diverted into the canal through the Gillespie Dam. There are no significant tributaries to the canal, but the water is diverted upstream from several other dams on the Gila River. The flow is highest in the spring and summer months when irrigation demands are at their peak. Interestingly, the canal is lined with concrete to prevent seepage and is one of the longest concrete-lined canals in the world, stretching over 100 miles. Overall, the hydrology of the Enterprise Canal at Gillespie Dam is critical to the agricultural productivity of the region.
