Completed in 1988, the dam stands at a structural height of 70 feet and has a hydraulic height of 68 feet. Its primary purpose is flood risk reduction, with additional purposes including fish and wildlife pond, recreation, and other uses.
The dam has a storage capacity of 26,950 acre-feet and a drainage area of 33 square miles. It has a spillway width of 300 feet and a maximum discharge capacity of 24,639 cubic feet per second. The dam's hazard potential is classified as high, and emergency management measures are in place to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of downstream communities.
