Salt Springs is located in the northern California town of Montague. The area's hydrology is characterized by a unique combination of thermal springs, which are heated by geothermal activity, and cold springs, which originate from snowmelt and rainwater. These springs are a source of water for irrigation and drinking, with the largest surface flow coming from the Shasta River.
