With a height of 40 feet and a length of 750 feet, this dam has a storage capacity of 450 acre-feet and a normal storage level of 35 feet. The dam features a controlled spillway and a single outlet valve for water release.
Despite being rated as having a low hazard potential, the SCS-Quapaw Creek Site-02 is considered to have a very high risk level due to its location and design. The dam has not been inspected since 1980, with an inspection frequency of every 5 years. The condition of the dam is currently not rated, and there is no emergency action plan in place. With the potential for high risk and the lack of recent assessments, there is a need for increased monitoring and maintenance of this critical infrastructure to ensure its continued safety and effectiveness in flood risk reduction for the surrounding area.
