Bischel is a gravity dam located in Waukesha, Wisconsin, specifically in the city of Dousman. Built in 1850, this dam serves a primary purpose of recreation and stands at a height of 12 feet, with a hydraulic height of 9 feet. With a normal storage capacity of 37 acre-feet and a maximum storage of 80 acre-feet, Bischel covers a surface area of 20 acres and has a drainage area of 17.5 square miles.

The dam spans 250 feet in length and has a maximum discharge capacity of 630 cubic feet per second. Classified as a low hazard potential structure with a fair condition assessment, Bischel is regulated, permitted, inspected, and enforced by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WIDNR). Despite being modified in 1913, the dam remains in a relatively stable condition, with its last inspection conducted in July 2015.
