Summary

The mountain is boasting a 9-inch snowpack—slightly below average—but don't let that fool you. With 2 inches of new snow expected today and over 6 inches forecasted in the next 72 hours, conditions are looking up for powder hounds. The snow water equivalent stands at 1.6 inches, ensuring a dense, skiable base that's still soft enough to carve clean turns.

Silver Mountain is gaining national attention, recently ranked among Forbes' Best U.S. Ski Resorts for the Money and featured in several glowing reviews highlighting its uncrowded slopes and epic gondola—the world’s longest single-stage ride. However, skiers are urged to stay within open boundaries after recent avalanches in closed areas led to tragic consequences. Two chairlifts are open this week, and with more snow on the way, terrain access is expected to expand quickly. Whether you're chasing untouched powder or simply enjoying the breathtaking views from the historic gondola, Silver Mountain is delivering classic Idaho winter magic with affordability and adventure in spades.
