Summary

While base conditions remain thin, the slopes are open for early-season turns. Groomed runs are the best bet today, as only 0.2 inches of snow is forecasted in the next 24 to 72 hours, offering little help to bolster coverage. Despite the limited snow, Eastern Washington’s typically dry powder and quiet slopes still offer a charming escape for holiday skiers.

In the news, excitement surrounding Bluewood’s anticipated Skyline Express high-speed chairlift has taken a backseat due to legal disputes that have delayed its debut until 2026. While this marks a temporary setback for the resort’s modernization plans, Bluewood remains a top pick for value-driven skiers in the Pacific Northwest, especially with its inclusion in the Indy Pass. As the season progresses, snow lovers should keep an eye on future storms—Bluewood’s location in the Blue Mountains is known to surprise with sudden powder dumps. Until then, pack your rock skis and enjoy a peaceful day on the mountain with short lift lines and panoramic views.
