The Lower Nye Campgrounds in California offer stunning views of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, including peaks such as Mount Whitney and Mount Williamson. Reservations can be made online, and the campground has 15 sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. The best time to visit is between May and October when temperatures average between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and drop to around 30 degrees at night.
