SUMMARY

The Wagon Campground is a popular camping area located in the Sequoia National Forest in California. The surrounding views are stunning, with thick pine forests and the nearby Kern River providing a picturesque backdrop. The campground is close to several points of interest, including Lake Isabella, which is a great spot for fishing, swimming, and boating. The Trail of 100 Giants is not far away and features giant sequoia trees that are over 1000 years old.

The campground has several amenities to make your stay comfortable, including drinking water, picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets. The campsites are available on a first-come-first-serve basis, so it's important to arrive early to secure your spot. There are 12 campsites available, each of which can accommodate up to 6 people and 2 vehicles.

An interesting fact about the area is that it was once home to Native American tribes, who used the Kern River for transportation and fishing. The Wagon Campground was named after the wagons that once traveled through the area during the gold rush.

The best time of year to visit the Wagon Campground is during the summer months, from June to August, when the temperatures range from 75-85°F during the day and 50-60°F at night. However, visitors should be aware that the campground is at an elevation of 4,000 feet, so temperatures can drop quickly after sunset.
