It’s free and first-come, first-served, with no reservations or permits required unless accessing Yellowstone. There are no amenities: no toilets, water, fire rings, or picnic tables. RVs can access the area via dirt roads, but there are no hookups. The camping experience is remote and quiet, surrounded by meadows, wetlands, and forested hills. It’s ideal for solitude, wildlife viewing, and fishing. Nearby trails include Gneiss Creek Trail. Best visited in summer and early fall when roads are passable and conditions are mild.
