There are no reservations or permits required. Amenities include vault toilets, but no potable water, picnic tables, or fire rings—campers must follow Leave No Trace and fire safety guidelines. The area is desert-like and open, popular with RVers and overlanders due to easy access and wide spaces. It’s a quiet, starkly beautiful spot near Pyramid Lake and the Black Rock Desert, with nearby off-roading and hiking opportunities. Best visited in spring or fall for milder temperatures; summer can be extremely hot.
