Hood National Forest offers 33 established campsites (no dispersed camping) nestled in a lush, forested setting along the Clackamas River. Reservations are required and can be made via Recreation.gov; fees apply. Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings with grills, vault toilets, and potable water. There are no RV hookups, but RVs up to 22 ft are accommodated. The serene, wooded atmosphere is ideal for relaxation, fishing, and hiking nearby trails like the Riverside National Recreation Trail. The best time to visit is late spring through early fall when weather is mild and the river is most accessible.
