Surrounded by towering mountains, the area offers stunning views of the Wasatch Range. Nearby points of interest include the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway, which offers breathtaking views of the Uinta Mountains, and the Provo River, famous for its world-class fly fishing. The campground amenities include picnic tables, fire pits, and vault toilets. The campground operates on a first-come, first-serve basis, with 30 campsites available.

An interesting/quirky fact about the area is that it is said to be haunted by the ghost of an old prospector who lost his gold in the area. The best time to visit is during the summer months, from June to September, when the weather is warm and dry. The average temperature during this time is around 70 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and drops to the 40s at night.
