No reservations or permits are required, and camping is free. Amenities are minimal: no toilets, water, picnic tables, fire rings, or RV hookups—this is true backcountry camping. Expect a rugged, high-alpine experience with stunning views of alpine meadows, glacial peaks, and wildflowers in summer. Popular nearby trails include access to Titcomb Basin and Island Lake via the Elkhart Park Trailhead. Best visited July–September for snow-free conditions. Bring all supplies, practice Leave No Trace, and be prepared for rapidly changing mountain weather.
