Mt. Jefferson rises to 5,716 ft in White-Mountains within the White Mountains range.
With an elevation of 5,712 feet (1,741 meters), it is the third highest mountain in New Hampshire. The mountain boasts a summit cone that is often described as "rocky" and "alpine" due to its exposed cliffs and rugged terrain. One such legend tells the story of a hidden treasure buried somewhere on the mountain, attracting treasure hunters from far and wide. However, no evidence of the treasure has ever been found.
