This section spans approximately 10 miles and features several challenging rapids, including "Flipper," "Bridal Veil," and "Staircase."
Due to the difficult nature of the rapids and the remote location of the river, it is recommended that only experienced kayakers and rafters attempt this section. Paddlers should also be aware of potential hazards such as strainers and sweepers, as well as the possibility of bears and other wildlife in the surrounding wilderness.
In addition, there are several regulations specific to this area. Permits are required for all overnight trips, and fires are prohibited above 6,500 feet in elevation. Paddlers should also be mindful of Leave No Trace principles and pack out all waste and trash.
