Streamflow discharge was last observed at 5,430 cfs, and a gauge height of 69.65 feet.
With the
% decrease since yesterday,
the streamflow average over the past 10 days is 5,186 .
Weather today, Tomorrow,
The river is fed by several tributaries, including the Little Kaskaskia River, and has been dammed in several locations, including Carlyle Lake. Seasonally, the river's flow can increase during periods of heavy rain or snowmelt, and decrease during droughts. Interestingly, the Kaskaskia River is unique in that it is the only river in Illinois that flows south, eventually emptying into the Mississippi River.
