C J Strike, located in Owyhee County, Idaho, is a privately owned dam on the Snake River with a primary purpose of hydroelectric power generation. Completed in 1952, this earth dam stands at a height of 115 feet and has a storage capacity of 250,000 acre-feet, providing irrigation water, recreation opportunities, and flood control to the region. With a surface area of 7500 acres and a drainage area of 40,800 acres, C J Strike plays a crucial role in water resource management in the area.

Managed by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, C J Strike has a controlled spillway and eight Tainter gates for water release. The dam has a high hazard potential and a very high risk assessment rating, highlighting the importance of regular inspections and emergency preparedness. Despite the lack of a detailed condition assessment, the dam's operation is regulated by the state with permitting, inspection, and enforcement mechanisms in place. C J Strike serves as a key infrastructure for water supply and energy production in the region, contributing to the sustainability and resilience of the local community in the face of changing climate conditions.
