Summary

Overnight temps dipped to a crisp 15.9°F, preserving the current 2-inch snowpack. While that’s significantly below the seasonal average—down by more than 35%—there’s hope in the short-term forecast: light snow showers are expected to deliver 2 more inches over the next 72 hours, offering a slight refresh to the base. While off-piste terrain remains limited, groomed trails are open with firm but carvable conditions, thanks to enhanced snowmaking efforts underway. Early risers can expect fast, cold corduroy and excellent visibility on open runs.

Behind the scenes, Gunstock is buzzing with transformation. Major upgrades are in the pipeline, including plans to double the resort’s size with four new lifts and 31 additional trails. These developments come amid a swirl of political tension, as local governance disputes continue to make headlines. Despite this, resort leadership remains focused on the mountain’s future and skier experience. As snowmakers race to thicken the base and more natural snow is anticipated in the coming weeks, Gunstock is poised for a dynamic season of skiing and evolution. Dress warm, ski early, and keep an eye on the skies—winter's far from done.
