Summary

After an overnight low of 15.9°F, the mountain is holding onto a modest 2-inch snowpack—well below the seasonal average, down 41% from typical levels. While the trails are open, expect early-season conditions with thin coverage in places. Snowmaking crews have been working around the clock to preserve what’s there, and a light snow flurry—forecasted at 0.43 inches over the next 72 hours—could offer a subtle refresh, though not enough to significantly boost base depths. Ski with caution and check trail updates before heading up the lifts.

Amidst the mountain’s winter challenges, exciting changes are on the horizon. Gunstock is moving forward with ambitious upgrade plans, including proposals to double the resort's size, add four new lifts, and introduce 31 new trails—setting the stage for a revitalized future. However, political tensions continue to swirl around the resort’s governance, with local headlines highlighting ongoing debates over leadership and control. Despite the uncertainty, the community remains deeply engaged, and Gunstock’s legacy as a beloved New Hampshire ski destination endures. Bring your edge control and adventurous spirit—this winter at Gunstock is one to watch.
