Some of the storms could contain large hail and damaging winds. Above normal temperatures to continue. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 242 AM CDT Fri Sep 4 2026 Scattered thunderstorms continue to move across the area early this morning. There have been scattered reports of strong winds/wind damage or large hail with the storms across east- central WI. Meanwhile, still watching a line of thunderstorms entering northwest WI as of 2:30 am. Still some uncertainty on how far east these storms will make it into northeast WI later this morning. Otherwise, storms should come to an end by mid-morning. Otherwise, skies will become partly cloudy with warm and humid conditions this afternoon. The combination of the heat and humidity is expected to trigger isolated thunderstorms late this afternoon into early this evening. Still plenty of instability and shear that may cause some of the storms to become strong or severe with damaging winds and large hail. Dry conditions are expected this weekend, then the chances of thunderstorms arrive late Monday and continue into Tuesday night as a cold front moves across the area. Stronger storms are possible Tuesday and Tuesday night. Above normal temperatures will continue into the middle of next week with highs in the middle 70s to middle 80s. The majority of the activity will exit by 12-15z Friday. The strongest storms could produce gusty winds, small hail, and heavy rain. A period of low ceilings and fog (mainly IFR/MVFR) are expected Friday morning behind the area of showers/storms, but a few spots could see LIFR conditions for a time. Conditions slowly improve later Friday morning into Friday afternoon as ceilings lift.
