New Jersey is home to several ski resorts, including Mountain Creek, Campgaw Mountain, and Hidden Valley. Mountain Creek is the largest and most popular ski resort in the state, offering 167 acres of skiable terrain, 100% snowmaking coverage, and 46 trails. Campgaw Mountain is a smaller resort, featuring 8 trails, a terrain park, and night skiing. Hidden Valley offers 12 trails and a vertical drop of 620 feet.

The average snowfall per season in New Jersey is around 50 inches, and the average snowpack ranges from 20-30 inches. The best month to visit for skiing in New Jersey is typically February, when temperatures are cold enough to ensure good snow coverage.

Interestingly, New Jersey was once home to one of the country's first ski resorts, located in the town of New Durham. The resort opened in 1932 and featured a single ski slope with a rope tow. By the 1940s, skiing had become a popular pastime in the state, and several other resorts had opened. However, the ski industry in New Jersey declined in the 1970s due to warmer winters and the rise of skiing destinations in neighboring states like Vermont and New York.
