Snow conditions are firm and groomed, with icy sections likely, especially on higher elevation trails and shaded runs. No fresh snow is expected today, but skiers can look forward to a 0.44-inch snowfall over the next 72 hours, with more promising weather on the horizon—5 inches forecasted over the next 120 hours.
While the current snowpack sits at a staggering 71% below average for this time of year, Angel Fire is still offering solid groomed terrain for those eager to hit the slopes. Expert skiers can test their mettle on the resort’s newly added double black diamond trails, while beginners and intermediates should stick to well-maintained groomers. Conditions aren't ideal for powder hounds, but if you're craving mountain air and some turns, it's still worth a visit—just temper expectations and bring sharp edges.

The resort offers skiing and snowboarding on various mountain aspects, including north-facing slopes which tend to hold snow well and provide good conditions for skiing. The highest peak in the area is Wheeler Peak, which is the highest peak in New Mexico and provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Other notable peaks in the area include Baldy Mountain and Agua Fria Peak.
The best trails include Exhibition, a black diamond run with steep pitches and moguls, and High Five, a blue square run with beautiful views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. An interesting fact about the resort is that it was originally developed in the 1960s by a group of Texas businessmen who wanted to create a ski resort closer to their home state. For beginner skiers, we recommend trying out the Perfect Progression program which offers personalized instruction and easy-to-ride lifts. After a day on the slopes, head to The Lift House Bar and Grill for an après ski drink and live music.
