About the Area


Whiteface Mountain is located in the Adirondack Mountain range in New York state. It is the fifth highest mountain in the state, standing at 4,867 feet. The ski resort at Whiteface Mountain offers a vertical drop of 3,430 feet, the largest in the eastern United States. The mountain has 87 trails, including the famous Olympic run used in the 1980 Winter Olympics held in Lake Placid. Whiteface Mountain is known for its challenging terrain and stunning views of the surrounding Adirondack High Peaks.
