A free, self-issued permit may be required for wilderness access. There are no toilets, water, picnic tables, RV access, or hookups—this is a backcountry experience. Campers must pack in/out and follow fire regulations (fire rings not provided). Nestled in a scenic, forested canyon near Sespe Wilderness, it’s surrounded by dramatic sandstone cliffs and wildflower-dotted meadows. The Fishbowls and Gene Marshall-Piedra Blanca Trails provide excellent hiking. Visit in spring or fall for cooler weather and flowing creeks; summers can be hot and dry.
