Located within the Gallatin National Forest near Yellowstone’s northwest corner, it features forested scenery, abundant wildlife, and proximity to the scenic Fan Creek Trail. No reservations or permits are required, and there are no fees. There are no toilets, water, picnic tables, or fire rings—campers must pack in/out everything and follow Leave No Trace principles. RVs are not recommended due to rough access roads. Best visited June–September for mild weather and trail access. A peaceful, remote experience perfect for self-sufficient campers seeking solitude amid pristine high-country wilderness.
