Summary
No reservations are required, but a small fee applies; permits are needed for river access. The BLM-managed campground features pit toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, and non-potable water (bring your own drinking water). There are no RV hookups, but small RVs and trailers can access the area. Expect wide-open prairie landscapes, historic Lewis and Clark sites, and access to the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument. Popular for paddling, fishing, and hiking. Spring through early fall is best, as summers can be hot and dry with limited shade.
