This includes the Tribal Lands of the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation, the Red Cliff Band, the northwestern area of the Lac du Flambeau Band, the Bad River Reservation and the St. Croix Band in Burnett County. Standing at an elevation of 1,951 feet (595 meters) above sea level, it holds the distinction of being the highest natural point in the state of Wisconsin, USA. The hill covers an area of approximately 2 square miles (5.2 square kilometers) and is situated within Timms Hill County Park.

During the winter season, Timms Hill experiences a range of snowpack depths due to its location in the northern part of the state. Snowfall can vary greatly from year to year, but on average, the area receives around 50 inches (127 centimeters) of snow annually.
