The river features several steep drops, sharp turns, and technical rapids that require advanced maneuvering skills. Some of the specific obstacles on this stretch include the Maze, the Black Hole, and a series of steep drops known as the S-Turns. The best time of year to run this section is in the late spring or early summer when water levels are at their highest. A flow rate of 300-500 cfs is recommended for a safe and enjoyable trip.
