Parks report

The U.S. has 63 national parks, hundreds of national monuments and recreation areas, more than 10,000 state-park sites, and a deep network of county and city parks. Snoflo joins these public directories so you can browse them by state and find what's nearby.

Spring is the sweet spot in the Southwest — Zion, Arches, Joshua Tree all see ideal temps before summer heat. Summer swings to the Rockies and Cascades but expect crowds and reservation lockouts at flagship parks (Yellowstone, Glacier, Yosemite). Fall brings foliage in New England and the Smokies plus mild temps in the desert again. Winter hands the spotlight to Florida (Everglades, Big Cypress), the Gulf, and the warm-weather coasts.

Drill into any state below for a full park directory. Always check the operating agency before driving — parks close for fires, floods, government shutdowns, and seasonal road maintenance.

Parks report FAQ

About the parks data

Where do the parks come from?

Snoflo's parks directory is curated from public-access listings published by the National Park Service (NPS), USDA Forest Service (USFS), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), state-park agencies across all 50 states, plus county and local park district data. We focus on places that are publicly accessible.

Are reservations bookable through Snoflo?

No. Snoflo links you out to the operating agency's reservation or pass system (Recreation.gov for federal sites, individual state portals for state parks). We're a discovery + planning tool, not a booking platform.

How accurate is conditions + access info?

Status comes from agency-published data. Snoflo refreshes regularly but agencies do close roads seasonally, defer maintenance, and shut entry gates for fires, floods, or government funding gaps. Always confirm with the agency before driving — especially for backcountry routes and shoulder-season visits.

What about America the Beautiful pass?

The America the Beautiful pass covers most federal recreation lands — NPS, USFS, BLM, USFWS, and Reclamation sites. State parks have their own per-state pass systems and aren't covered.

Can I save a park for later?

Yes. Save any park as a favorite in the Snoflo iOS app and you'll get conditions and weather alerts pushed when something changes. Free with a Snoflo account.

What about Leave No Trace?

Pack out everything you bring in, stay on durable surfaces, give wildlife space, and respect closures. The Leave No Trace seven principles are the canonical reference for outdoor ethics. Going light leaves more for the next visitor.
