Bridgeport Reservoir is a man-made lake located in Mono County, California. Created in 1923, the reservoir was originally built to store water for the Los Angeles Aqueduct, but is now primarily used for irrigation and recreation. The reservoir is fed by the East Walker River and snowmelt from the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The snowpack provides the majority of the water supply for the reservoir, which is managed by the Bridgeport Reservoir Company. The water is mainly used for agricultural purposes in the surrounding area, but also supports recreational activities such as fishing, boating, and camping.
