Mud Lake, located in Modoc County, California, is a privately owned earth dam with a primary purpose of water supply for irrigation and other uses. Built in 1926, the dam stands at a height of 10 feet and has a storage capacity of 300 acre-feet. Situated on the Tr Nfk Pit River, this dam plays a crucial role in providing water to the surrounding area, with a surface area of 100 acres and a drainage area of 2.7 square miles.

Managed by the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) under the Safety of Dams program, Mud Lake dam is regularly inspected, with the last assessment conducted in August 2019, revealing a satisfactory condition and low hazard potential.
