Lemon Reservoir
Lemon Reservoir is a manmade lake located in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado. It was created in the 1960s as part of a hydroelectric project. The reservoir is fed by several streams and contributes to the Animas River watershed. Snowpack from the surrounding mountains also provides a significant portion of the reservoir's water. The reservoir serves as a source of irrigation for nearby farmland and provides recreational opportunities for fishing, boating, and camping. The area is also used for hiking and wildlife viewing. Despite its relatively small size, Lemon Reservoir plays an important role in the water supply and economy of the region.
