Horseshoe is a state-owned earth dam located in Big Horn, Wyoming, with a primary purpose of serving as a Fish and Wildlife Pond. Completed in 1969, this structure stands at a height of 29 feet and has a hydraulic height of 24 feet, with a capacity to store up to 329 acre-feet of water. The dam, made of stone core and soil foundation, spans 268 feet in length and covers a surface area of 28 acres.

Despite its low hazard potential, Horseshoe is currently assessed to be in poor condition, last inspected in May 2017. The dam features an uncontrolled spillway with a width of 20 feet and is equipped with a slide gate for water release. With a moderate risk assessment rating, there is potential for improvement and risk management measures to be implemented to ensure the safety and reliability of this water resource structure. The dam is under state regulation, permitting, inspection, and enforcement, indicating a strong commitment to its maintenance and operation within the state of Wyoming.
