Paoli Peaks ski resort in Indiana offers 15 trails (ranging from beginner to expert), 5 chairlifts, and two surface lifts. The best trails are considered to be the North Face and South Face, which offer intermediate to advanced terrain. A lesser-known fact about the resort is that it was originally built by Chuck and Jan Eliason in 1978 as a small ski hill for their six children to enjoy. For beginner skiers, the Learning Area is a great option with its gentle slopes and dedicated lift. As for apres ski, the resort's Alpine Cafe serves up food and drinks, but for a livelier atmosphere, the nearby French Lick Resort has multiple bars and restaurants to choose from.
The Paoli Peaks ski resort in Indiana is located in the Paoli Hills, which is part of the larger Southern Indiana Uplands region. The resort features several ski runs and trails that make use of the natural terrain of the area, including gentle slopes and rolling hills. The highest point in the Paoli Hills is about 1,000 feet above sea level, making it one of the highest points in the state of Indiana. The resort also offers views of the surrounding Hoosier National Forest and the Ohio River Valley.
