Summary

Overnight temperatures held steady at 33.5°F, keeping surface snow soft but limiting any overnight refreeze. With only 1 inch of snowpack—more than 58% below the seasonal average—terrain is extremely limited, and natural coverage is thin to non-existent. Skiers should expect marginal early-season conditions, with grassy patches and exposed ground on ungroomed areas. Snowmaking efforts remain crucial, though warm temps have made operations challenging. Caution is strongly advised on any open terrain.

Looking ahead, a modest 1.5 inches of snow is forecasted over the next 72 hours, with another inch expected in the 5-day outlook—hopeful news for the base. Enthusiasts may find optimism in the spirit of the local ski community, recently celebrated in publications like New Hampshire Magazine for preserving the soul of Granite State skiing. As neighboring areas like King Pine report stable conditions, Temple’s legacy as one of New Hampshire’s lost ski sites continues to echo in local headlines. While the skiing remains limited, the mountain stands as a quiet monument to the region’s enduring winter spirit.
