A free permit is required from the Nederland Ranger District. The area has no amenities—no toilets, water, picnic tables, or hookups—so campers must be fully self-sufficient. Campfires are allowed in existing fire rings, subject to fire restrictions. Set in a scenic, high-alpine forest near Nederland, the vibe is peaceful and remote, ideal for solitude seekers. Nearby trails include access to the Indian Peaks Wilderness and West Magnolia trail network. Best visited June–September for mild weather and road access. RVs not recommended due to rough roads and lack of facilities.
