A backcountry permit is required; no reservations for specific sites, but permits can fill quickly. Camping is free with the permit. Campsites feature pit toilets, food storage lockers, and designated tent pads—no water, fire rings, or picnic tables. Fires are not allowed. RVs and hookups are not permitted; access is via hiking trails only. Set in a serene, forested lakeside setting with mountain views, it’s ideal for solitude and wildlife sightings. Nearby trails include the Ptarmigan Tunnel and Belly River routes. Best visited July–September.
