Trampas Campground is a beautiful camping area nestled in the mountains of northern New Mexico, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and forests. The campground is located in the Carson National Forest and provides easy access to nearby trails, fishing spots, and scenic drives. One popular nearby attraction is the Taos Ski Valley, which offers skiing and snowboarding during the winter months.

The campground offers 21 campsites, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and tent pad. Campers can enjoy amenities such as potable water, vault toilets, and a trash collection service. Reservations are recommended, as the campground is first-come, first-served and can fill up quickly during peak season.

An interesting fact about the Trampas Campground is that it sits at an elevation of 8,200 feet above sea level, making it a great destination for those looking to escape the heat during the summer months. The best time to visit is between late May and early October when temperatures average around 65-75°F during the day and drop to around 35-45°F at night.
