No reservations or permits are required unless venturing into nearby wilderness. Amenities are minimal: pit toilets are available, but there’s no drinking water, hookups, picnic tables, or fire rings—campfires may be restricted seasonally. The campground sits in a scenic, high-alpine meadow with dense forest surroundings, ideal for a quiet, rustic experience. It’s a popular starting point for the North Umpqua Trail and access to Lemolo Lake. Best visited late spring through early fall, campers enjoy peaceful solitude, horseback riding, hiking, and wildlife spotting in a remote, natural setting.
