Granite Basin is a Federal-owned water resource located in Yavapai, Arizona, along the Mint Wash river. The primary purpose of this concrete dam, completed in 1939, is for recreation, specifically for fish and wildlife pond activities. With a dam height of 27 feet and a storage capacity of 90 acre-feet, this reservoir covers a surface area of 7 acres and serves as a critical water source in the region.

Managed by the Forest Service, Granite Basin has a spillway width of 300 feet and a maximum discharge of 5300 cubic feet per second. Despite its high hazard potential, the dam's condition is not currently rated. The last inspection in August 2019 revealed a moderate risk level with no specific risk management measures identified. With its picturesque setting and recreational opportunities, Granite Basin is a key location for water resource and climate enthusiasts to explore and appreciate the importance of sustainable water management practices in the face of changing climate conditions.
