Equalizer, also known as Blackfoot Equalizing, is a Federal-owned earth dam located in Blackfoot, Idaho, along the Blackfoot River. Constructed in 1937 by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, this dam serves multiple purposes including fire protection, stock management, and small fish pond creation. With a height of 25 feet and a length of 1800 feet, Equalizer has a storage capacity of 2300 acre-feet and a controlled spillway width of 107 feet.

Managed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Equalizer is regulated, inspected, and enforced by the Idaho Department of Water Resources. The dam has a high hazard potential and a very high risk assessment rating, making it crucial to ensure its safety and integrity. While the condition assessment is currently not available, the dam's Emergency Action Plan was last revised in 2011. With its strategic location in the Walla Walla District, Equalizer plays a key role in water resource management and climate resilience efforts in the region.
