Davis No. 2

Davis No. 2, located in Lincoln, Wyoming, is a privately owned earth dam completed in 1955 for irrigation purposes on Lake Creek. With a height of 17 feet and a hydraulic height of 12 feet, this dam has a storage capacity of 310 acre-feet, with a normal storage of 189 acre-feet and a surface area of 25 acres. Despite its low hazard potential, the dam is in poor condition and was last inspected in September 2018, with an inspection frequency of 5 years.

The dam features a slide (sluice gate) outlet gate and an uncontrolled spillway with a width of 100 feet. Although the risk assessment categorizes it as moderate, there are no emergency action plans in place, and the risk management measures are not specified. The dam is regulated by the State Engineer's Office in Wyoming and is subject to state permitting, inspection, and enforcement. Overall, Davis No. 2 serves as a vital infrastructure for water resource management in the region, but its poor condition and lack of emergency preparedness highlight the need for continued monitoring and maintenance to ensure its safety and functionality for the future.
