Silver Lake, located in Olmsted County, Minnesota, is a gravity dam built in 1999 by SEH ENG for the primary purpose of recreation. With a structural height of 30 feet and a length of 251 feet, the dam holds a storage capacity of 400 acre-feet and covers a surface area of 58 acres. The lake is situated on the Zumbro River South Fork and is owned by the local government of Rochester.

The dam at Silver Lake is regulated by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MNDNR EWR) and is inspected regularly to ensure public safety. Despite being assessed as in fair condition as of June 2014, the dam has a significant hazard potential due to its very high risk assessment rating of 1. The controlled spillway, with a width of 225 feet, helps manage the lake's water levels and prevent flooding in the surrounding area.

With its picturesque location and ample recreational opportunities, Silver Lake is a popular destination for water resource and climate enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy activities such as boating, fishing, and picnicking while appreciating the beauty of this man-made reservoir nestled in the Minnesota countryside.
