Alaska is seeing significant snowfall accumulation in several regions, with Grandview forecasted to receive the highest total at 55 inches over the next five days. Exit Glacier and Eaglecrest Top are also expecting substantial snowfall, with 34 and 20 inches, respectively. Anchorage Hillside and Indian Pass have seen some fresh snowfall, with Indian Pass receiving 1 inch in the last 24 hours. Turnagain Pass, a key location for backcountry skiing, has recorded 6 inches of new snow and is forecasted for 9 more inches, making it a prime spot for fresh powder. Alyeska Resort, one of Alaska's major ski destinations, has received 5 inches in the past day and is expected to see an additional 8 inches, ensuring excellent conditions for skiers. Similarly, Mt. Eyak could see up to 10 inches in the coming days.

The heavy snowfall will impact major skiing regions near Anchorage, including Hatcher Pass and Turnagain Pass, both of which are anticipating fresh snow accumulation. Fairbanks and its surrounding areas will see lighter snowfall, with totals generally around 1-2 inches. Areas near the Kenai Peninsula, such as Cooper Lake and Sugarloaf Mountain, will also receive fresh snow, with forecasts of 7-14 inches. Skiers looking for deep snow should consider Grandview, Turnagain Pass, and Alyeska Resort, where conditions are rapidly improving.

The best month to visit Eaglecrest is March, when the weather is mild and the snow is plentiful.

3. Arctic Valley Ski Area: Located in Anchorage, Arctic Valley Ski Area is a community-based ski hill that offers 500 skiable acres and an average snowfall of 200 inches. The best month to visit Arctic Valley is April, when the days are long and the skiing is excellent.
