About the Area


Cherry Peak Ski Resort is located in the Bear River Mountains in northern Utah, near the town of Richmond. The resort is situated in the Cache Valley, surrounded by several prominent mountain ranges, including the Bear River Range, Wasatch Range, and Wellsville Mountains.

The ski resort itself sits on Cherry Peak, which has a summit elevation of 7,057 feet. The mountain offers a variety of terrain for skiers and snowboarders, with 200 acres of skiable terrain and a vertical drop of 1,265 feet. Cherry Peak also boasts fantastic views of the surrounding mountain ranges and valleys, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

The best trails are considered to be the black diamond runs such as The Face, Headwall, and Nose Dive. Cherry Peak is one of the youngest ski resorts in the country, having opened in 2015. For beginners, the best trail is the Easy Street run, which is a gentle slope with a magic carpet lift. The resort's bar, The Lodge at Cherry Peak, offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere with an impressive selection of beer and wine.
