No reservations or permits are required, and camping is free. There are no toilets, water, hookups, or RV access—this is a primitive site with no amenities, so pack in and out. Campers will find basic fire rings but no picnic tables. Surrounded by forest and granite formations, the vibe is peaceful and secluded. Nearby highlights include the Stanislaus River for fishing and swimming, and hiking trails like the Sword Lake Trail. Best visited late spring through fall when roads are clear and conditions are ideal.
