Frenchman Campground, in northern California near Frenchman Lake, offers 38 established campsites with picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, and drinking water—no hookups.


Summary

Reservations are available via Recreation.gov; fees apply. Dispersed camping is also allowed in designated areas around the lake. The campground is RV-accessible (up to 35 feet). Nestled in a high desert landscape with pine trees and lake views, it provides a quiet, scenic retreat ideal for fishing, boating, and wildlife viewing. Nearby, the Lakes Basin trails offer excellent hiking. Best visited May–October for warm days and cooler nights. No permit needed unless campfire restrictions are in place.
